Search Engine Optimisation and submission Service
Is your website Search Engine Optimised?
The very first thing to do before you start
promoting your website to the search engines is to make
sure that it is properly prepared. It will be a total waste
of time to tell all the search engines about your amazing
site if, when they arrive to index it and add it to their
database, it isn't search-engine friendly. The search engines
may list you but if the listing doesn't rank well with your
product you will be too far down the list for people to
find.
Here's the WebWest approach:
- First we give a free appraisal of your website to advise
you of it's suitability for listing and a quote on optimisation
needed (if any) in preparation for the search engines
- If you accept the quote we draft a prioritised list
of keywords/keyphrases, page descriptions and headers
for your approval. We may also advise some changes to
your wording to improve the keyword density.
- Once you've approved the changes we go ahead and implement
them and then, if required, register your website with
the major free directories and search engines. This includes
authenticating your website with Google and Yahoo and
providing suitable site maps to assist their search engine
web-bots in listing your site.
- We charge $150 for the registration service for most
websites which is based on the time taken to submit your
site information to the general free Search Engines and
Directories targeting your geographical and business areas
of operation.
- We automatically update your Search Engine listings
where possible every 45 days for the following 12 months.
Points to note:
- Submission does not necessarily guarantee a listing.
However, many search engines give reasons for not including
you so that there is an opportunity to make adjustments.
- Some search engines and directories take from one to
several months to list you.
- Yahoo won't list you generally if your site is business
only, unless you pay them around $500 per annum. If your
site contains basically educational, reference material
or personal content though, it should be no problem.
- Some Search Engines and Directories won't list websites
that are Sub-domain and not Domain Name websites, e.g.,
www.yourname.hostingcompany.com
or www.hostingcompany.com/~yourname/
- Some Search Engines and Directories won't list websites
according to geography. e.g., you can't get listed in
the Zebra index of South Africa if your website is www.anyone.com.au.

Where will we list you?
Below is a list of the main, available
search engines and directories. Many may not be suitable
for your website, some can be very expensive and some are
even rumoured to sell your email address to spammers. Applying
to one may automatically list you in another. Applying to
certain directories twice, on the otherhand, can delete
you from their database
Many have varied and interesting ways of
checking, spidering and listing websites. Understanding
these tricks is the key to getting a good listing.
We try to keep this list as up-to-date
as possible.
